Harvey Carter was a three-year starter and two-year captain of the Bison basketball team. Carter was a First Team All-Middle Atlantic Conference selection as a senior in 1972-73, when he led the team in scoring at 14.2 points per game under coach Jim Valvano. In fact, Carter led the team in both scoring and rebounding in each of his last three seasons at Bucknell, making him just the third Bison ever to accomplish that feat, along with fellow Hall-of-Famers Hal Danzig, and Lorry Hathaway. Carter logged 1,013 points and 783 rebounds in his career, putting him on an elite list of Bison to collect 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
