Glenn McLaughlin was a leader and trailblazer of the track and field program at Bucknell He was a four-year letterwinner in cross country and outdoor track and field, and he earned three letters in indoor track and field. He qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 600-yard dash in 1973, where he finished 12th. In 1974, he was a member of the distance medley relay team that placed 11th at the NCAA Championships. McLaughlin came in third in the 440-yard dash in both his junior and senior years at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships, and he placed fifth as a sophomore. In 1974, he earned All-East recognition after placing fifth in the quarter-mile at the IC4A meet. In cross country, McLaughlin placed 18th, ninth, 10th and fourth in four IC4A Championships, and he was 14th as a senior at the U.S. Track and Field Federation Cross Country Championships. McLaughtlin came to Bucknell from Clarks Summit, Pa., and Abington Heights High School. Â
