A three-year basketball letterman, Don Strassner graduated with 880 career points, the second-highest total in school history at the time, behind only teammate and fellow Hall-of-Famer Joe Gallagher. The 37th-ranked scorer in the nation as a sophomore with a 15.9 points-per-game average, the Lewisburg native tallied 14.4 ppg during his career. Named to the All-Pennsylvania Second Team in 1951 and to the honorable mention list in 1952, Strassner earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team at Boston College in 1951.
