Bucknell Athletics Hall of Fame

Dawn M. Becker
- Induction:
- 1997
- Class:
- 1985
A four-year starter as a pitcher, Dawn Becker compiled one of the most impressive careers in Bucknell softball history. She set a Bucknell single-season earned-run average of 1.32 in 1984, and she proceeded to break that mark the following year as she posted a minuscule ERA 0.89, which led the East Coast Conference. At the time of her graduation, Becker held virtually every Bucknell softball pitching record. Led by Becker, the 1985 Bison team set a school record with 10 wins. Though current Bison softball teams play many more games than the teams of the early 1980s, Becker's per-game averages rank among the best ever at Bucknell. Also an outstanding student, Becker twice won the ECC Scholar-Athlete Award, and she was a two-time Second Team Academic All-American. Becker came to Bucknell fro Phillipsburg (N.J.) High School, and she went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from Stanford University School of Law. Becker launched a very successful professional career and became a member of the Bucknell Board of Trustees. Becker Field, the home of the Bison softball team, is named in her family's honor.
