Men's basketball coach from 1975-94, Charlie Woollum had a 19-year career record of 318-221, and his victory total at the time was higher than that of any other coach in any one sport in Bucknell's intercollegiate athletic history. Woollum's Bison teams won berths in the NCAA Tournament with victories in the East Coast Conference Tournament in 1987 and 1989, and they won six regular-season conference championships. The Bison won ECC regular-season titles in 1984, 1985, 1987 and 1989, and Patriot League championships in 1992 and 1993. Bucknell teams under Woollum also won ECC Western Section championships in 1979 and 1980, posted 11 consecutive winning seasons from 1982-83 through 1992-93 and had six 20-win seasons. Coach of the Year in the ECC three times and in the Patriot League in 1993, Woollum coached 27 all-conference players, three league players of the year, six Academic All-Americans and the top seven scorers in school history at the time of his induction in 1995. He later served as head coach at his alma mater, William and Mary.Â
