Halfback Brad Myers was one of the most-honored players on Bucknell's undefeated 1951 football team. An All-Pennsylvania, All-East and honorable mention All-America halfback, Myers held Bucknell's career rushing record and played five years in the National Football League with the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles. One of the "Touchdown Twins" along with Burt Talmage, Myers helped lead Bucknell to a 9-0 season and a No. 20 national ranking in 1951. That team established long-standing school records for rushing yards and total yards. Myers had 13 career 100-yard rushing games, a school record that lasted more than 40 years. He rushed for 2,622 yards from 1950-52 and held the school rushing record until 1991. Myers and Talmage in 1951 became the first two players in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. He was selected to play in the Blue-Gray Game in Birmingham, Ala. He was also the first Lancaster, Pa., native to play in the NFL. Myers was drafted by the Rams and played with them in 1953 before enlisting for military service in 1954-55. He was sold to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1957, played for the Eagles in 1958, and finished out his career with the Baltimore Colts that year.Â
