A co-captain of the basketball and field hockey teams as well as a member of the lacrosse squad, Bobbi Castens-Seidell was one of the first two women elected to the Hall of Fame along with Karin Wegener Knisely. In basketball Castens-Seidell set records for season (18.7) and career (15.0) rebounding average, and she also averaged 12.7 points per game over her career. She was later drafted by the Houston Angels of the Women's Professional Basketball League. A goalie in field hockey, Castens-Seidell was selected to the Susquehanna Association First Team for four straight years, participated in the U.S. Field Hockey Association national tournament in 1976-78, allowed only three goals in five games as her team won the International Friendship Tournament in 1978, and had 15 shutouts in 42 career games at Bucknell. Named Bucknell's outstanding multi-sport athlete in her class, Castens-Seidell went on to receive a Ph.D from Johns Hopkins University.Â
