- Induction:
- 2014
- Class:
- 2003
Sport: Football
Adam Lord was a dominant defensive lineman during his days in Orange & Blue. Lord played the unheralded nose guard position, and he is one of Bucknell’s best ever at that spot. It typically required multiple blockers to neutralize Lord, which was a major reason why the Bison led the Patriot League and ranked among the national leaders in rushing defense and total defense in 2001 and 2002.
In each of those two seasons Lord earned American Football Coaches Association All-America honors, and he was an Associated Press All-American as a senior in 2002. Lord became Bucknell’s first two-time football All-American since Hall-of-Famer Larry Schoeneberger in 1973 and 1974. Lord was a three-time All-Patriot League selection and was also the league’s Co-Player of the Year in 2002. The Troy, N.Y., native logged 132 career tackles, nearly a quarter of which came in the opposing backfield. After playing on three teams that posted winning records, Lord was a two-time team MVP and earned the Christy Mathewson Award winner as the top senior athlete.
