Dear Bison Alumni, Friends, and Families,
On behalf of Bucknell Volleyball, I send my warmest well wishes for the holiday season! Here in Lewisburg, we have much to celebrate and for which to be thankful, including your support throughout the 2025 season.
The fall certainly presented its fair share of challenges, and yet this team played some of its best volleyball toward the end. We finished the Patriot League schedule with five straight wins, including a thrilling home victory over four-time defending champions Colgate and a sweep against Army West Point on Senior Day. The surge led us to host a quarterfinal match in the Patriot League tournament for the second time in the past three seasons. While we might have fallen short in our pursuit of a championship, the 2025 team continued to establish Bucknell Volleyball as a legitimate contender for future success.
Senior Tijana Kostic and junior Sidney Shaffer earned all-league honors, with Shaffer earning her second All-Patriot League First Team award in a row after earning All-Patriot League Second Team accolades in her first year at Bucknell. Kostic repeated as a second team honoree in her final season as a Bison. She and her fellow seniors have been a part of monumental growth for Bucknell Volleyball; they are the first class at Bucknell in almost two decades to make the Patriot League tournament in all four years of competition, and they helped Bucknell to its best single-season winning percentage in program history in 2024. Senior Caleigh O’Connell earned Bucknell’s first-ever Patriot League Setter of the Year award in 2024, and this year she earned her second consecutive spot on the Academic All-Patriot League team. Riley Tucker, who is in her third year at Bucknell but will graduate this May, also earned Academic All-Patriot League honors. Senior Bri Frazilus crossed the 1,000-point milestone in her career, adding to her impressive legacy that includes 2022 Patriot League Rookie of the Year and 2024 All-Patriot League First Team honors. Senior Laura Caro stepped up in the stretch run and became our starting setter, during which she passed the 1,000-assist mark. Other milestones for this senior class include winning at Army West Point for the first time since 2003, and earning a hosting spot in the Patriot League tournament for the first time in 20 years.
As Bucknell Volleyball moves through another transition period this spring, there is much about which to be excited. Shaffer, juniors Cameron Lloyd and Kaitlyn Taylor, and sophomore Bella Rodriguez saw career-high performances in new and expanded roles, and first-year Bison Klea Tarja, Peyton McGee, and Stephanie Eroh gained valuable game-time experience. The goal of pursuing a Patriot League championship is now a yearly endeavor.
Thank you, as always, for your support and enthusiasm for Bucknell Volleyball. Mark your calendars now for this year’s One Herd One Day 24-hour giving challenge – March 25-26. The program can use everyone’s support and participation on that day as it continues on a path to a Patriot League Championship.
We hope to see you in Davis Gym next fall!
Happy Holidays!
Go Bison!
