Update from Head Men's Soccer Coach Dave Brandt -- October 2023

Dear Bison Men's Soccer Family,
If you have yet to see us play, our record is struggling compared to where we were last fall. If you have seen us play, you may know that this is an exciting young team to watch, and though the record is not what we want it to be, the future of this group is very bright.
Â
Soccer is a challenging sport in that sometimes the "better" team doesn't always win, and that fact has not favored us over the past year. We roster 19 first- and second-year students among our 27 players, and three of our four seniors are out with what are likely season-ending injuries. To say we are young is an understatement - but it's a fighting team, and when we've lost, we've gone down fighting. Last Sunday's draw against American was just the latest example, as Zane Domsohn tied the game in the 84th minute to help us secure the point.
Â
Our ultimate goal is to be perennial Patriot League champions. To get there, we need to build something so consistent, disciplined, tough, and bleeding with passion and bottom-line excellence that we can ride out dips in talent, injuries, circumstances, or what have you.
Â
I hope you see this as a vision and a young group of players worthy of your interest and support. A phenomenal group of guys is fighting to be a force in this conference and to be the model of Patriot League prominence. It's a complicated process, but as I will continue to say, we are building something significant, which takes a lot of work. I hope you'll stick with us; we are committed to making this program a model in the Patriot League and Division I men's soccer.
Â
Six regular season games left for us, including five Patriot League games and a non-conference match at home against St. Bonaventure on October 17th. We would love your support at any of our upcoming contests; however, if you cannot see us compete in person, please tune in and follow as you can. It's a group worth watching, and your support and endurance along the way are much valued and appreciated.
Â
Thank you, and Go Bison!!
