- Interim Head Coach Matt Brown--Â mab102@bucknell.edu
- Assistant Coach Cam Olson -- co014@bucknell.edu
Recruiting ScheduleÂ
TBA
When does the recruiting process begin?
- Bucknell is a Division I program, which means our coaching staff is not allowed to speak with recruits until Sept. 1Â of their junior year in high school. Until that time, we cannot communicate directly with a recruit about Bucknell, but we can communicate camp information and send out our recruiting questionnaire.
How does compliance factor into the recruiting process?
- NCAA rules prohibit our staff from contacting recruits about Bucknell specifically until Sept. 1Â of their junior year in high school. Â While we can share camp information and our questionnaire with interested recruits prior to that date, unfortunately we cannot otherwise communicate! Â
- Our questionnaire is extremely important because it is linked to our recruiting database. The database is also accessible by our admissions and compliance offices, and should we invite a recruit to stay overnight, we will need to have paperwork like transcripts, test scores, and other forms uploaded. Â Â Â
- Our staff takes compliance very seriously, as we continually update our database with logged calls, emails, and all forms of communication. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes, so if a coach does not respond to a recruit it may just be that they are not allowed to!
When does Bucknell men's soccer typically begin to commit its recruits?
Our staff will begin to commit recruits as early as spring of their junior year, but there are a lot of factors for our staff to consider, such as:- Character (getting to know what kind of person the recruit is and what their family is like)
- Academic information (grades, test scores, class schedules)
- Athletic background (speaking with a recruit's coach, watching live games, etc.)
For which class is Bucknell currently recruiting?
- We are currently recruiting for our 2025Â class (juniors).
Our staff travels across the country looking for the best possible fit for our recruiting class. We attend many tournaments, such as the USSDA winter and summer showcases, Disney Showcase, Jefferson Cup, Potomac Memorial Tournament, etc. We send out a reminder at the start of each season about which showcases we will be attending, but these emails only go out to those juniors and seniors who have filled out our questionnaire. Our staff also travels to watch high school, club, and academy level games, schedule permitting. Lastly, we hold a 4-day summer camp where our recruiting class for that year is finalized. We place a lot of priority in our camps because of how important they are not only for our staff, but for interested recruits, too!  Generally speaking, our camps are the best way for our staff to evaluate an interested recruit.Â
How to stay up-to-date with the program as an interested recruit?
- The best way to stay in touch is to fill out our questionnaire, which can be found here. Â It is also linked underneath each coach's signature in their emails. Â
While any recruit who is not yet a junior cannot have any interaction with a coach while visiting campus, recruits do have several other options if interested in Bucknell:
- Schedule a visit to tour campus with admissions
- Attend one of our games to see our style of play and level of competition
- Follow us on Social Media and check out our highlights on YouTube
- Have a highlight video of your own? Share it with us!
Please feel free to ask our staff any additional questions you may have, and we hope that this page has been helpful for you. Go Bison!
