Bucknell University Official Athletic Site

Bucknell University, Lewisburg
Bucknell's hilltop campus slopes into Victorian Lewisburg, population 6,000, a town in which historic preservationists have influence. Visitors enjoy walking through town and observing the ornamental vanities that are not part of modern architecture. Gingerbread porches, carved wooden doors, and three-globed streetlights make this town memorable.
Historical roots are important in Lewisburg. The town celebrates the holidays with the annual Victorian Holiday Parade and exhibits at the Packwood House Museum and the Slifer House Museum. Its many historical sites include an Underground Railroad station. A weekly farmers' market brings Amish farmers to town in horse-drawn wagons.
Lewisburg is ranked as one of America's best small towns in the book Making Your Move to One of America's Best Small Towns, written by Norman Crampton. Bucknell is described in the chapter on college towns.
