Bison Take the Diamond for Summer Ball Action Across Collegiate Leagues

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Summer is in full swing, and members of the Bucknell baseball team are taking the diamond for summer ball around the country. Below is a list of players to follow along this summer.

Several players have gotten off to fantastic starts in their respective leagues. Chris Morabito, Jaxon Beiswenger and Everett Garber make up a Bison trio on the Sag Harbor Whalers in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League. Beiswenger is off to a hot start, featuring in 15 of the Wahlers' 17 games. The corner infielder is batting .270 with 10 hits and four RBIs. He leads the team with 14 walks drawn at the plate.
Morabito is close behind with a .260 batting average. The 2024 Patriot League Rookie of the Year has 13 hits with eight RBIs in 16 games. Garber, the right-handed pitcher, has been excellent on the mound. He sports a 0.00 ERA in his first four appearances. He has made one start with a 2-0 record and also earned a save. In 8.2 innings thus far, he has allowed just one hit and has racked up an impressive 17 strikeouts. His 17 strikeouts rank fifth in the league despite pitching at least four less innings than the four players at the top of the list.
Billy Fluharty joins the trio in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League on the Shelter Island Bucks. In 16 games, Fluharty is batting .306 with 15 hits and three RBIs. Fluharty's average ranks 11th in the league and his 16 stolen bases lead the league by a wide a margin — five more stolen bases than any other player.
John Calabrese and Ty Lagoni, an incoming transfer, are competing in the Perfect Game League. Calabrese is on the Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs and has a .410 on-base percentage through 18 games. He has 14 hits, 15 walks and five RBIs thus far. Lagoni is batting .259 with 15 hits and 10 RBIs through 19 games on the Jamestown Tarp skunks.
Samuel Janik and Reed Muir join forces on the Medford Rogues in the Pacific Empire League. Bryce Mitchell is competing for the Strasburg Express in the Valley League and AJ Murray is playing for the Alexandria Aces in the Cal Ripken League. Ryan DeLaney is out West, pitching for the Walnut Creek Crawdads in the California Collegiate League.
Michael Trommer is playing for the Upper Valley Nighthawks in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. Jonathan Adelmann will join the Cotuit Kettleers for the second half of the prestigious Cape Cod League.
Anthony Sherwin '23 and Sean Keys '25 continue their careers in the Minor Leagues. Sherwin is currently a member of the Corpus Christi Hooks, the Double-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. Keys, a fourth-rounder in the 2024 MLB Draft, is playing High-A ball for the Vancouver Canadians, the affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.
