Bardunias Earns Third Patriot League Golfer of Week Award

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell freshman Sophia Bardunias earned her third Patriot League Golfer of the Week citation of the season on Wednesday after finishing in a tie atop the individual standings at the Prospect Bay Intercollegiate.
Bardunias finished in a three-way tie for first place with LIU's Vanessa Moreno Reyes and Sacred Heart's Jessie Burch. All three compiled 230 totals over 54 holes, and Moreno Reyes was named medalist on a match-of-cards tiebreaker.
Bardunias posted rounds of 79-75-76, and she continues to lead the team in scoring average for the spring (77.8) and full (77.3) seasons. She was previously named Golfer of the Week on Sept. 25 and March 12.
As a team, Bucknell also tied for first place but lost out on tiebreaker criteria. Bucknell and LIU both posted 938 totals, and the Dolphins were awarded the team title based on fifth-player score (81-82).
Next up for the Bison is the Youngstown State Spring Invitational at Avalon Lakes GC on Apr. 6-7. That will be the final tournament before the Patriot League Championship, which will be played Apr. 18-20 at Saucon Valley Country Club.
