Results

Donner's Debriefing
"Although we are not happy with fifth place as a team, we did compete very hard and with 11 freshmen in our 32-person lineup, I am excited about our future. It was great seeing Lea win Rookie of the Meet. She competed very well. We will always have a better outdoor season than an indoor season and we will focus our energy on the spring season."
Alexandra Lea took home the Patriot League Women's Rookie of the Meet award with bronze-medal finishes in the 200 and 400 meters. She led all freshmen student-athletes in points accumulated. The Bison first-timer raced 24.82 in the 200-meter dash and 55.33 in the 400-meter dash. Her 400-meter time tied Jess Bridle's mark set in 2016 for third place.Â
"Alex is such a great competitor," said Bucknell sprints coach Richard Alexander. "She went out there with the mindset to just try and beat people and that led to some great performances."
Lea became the first Bison to win Indoor Rookie of the Meet since current jumps and multi Bucknell coach Kaitlin Salisbury did so in 2017. Salisbury offered her perspective on seeing the next generation follow the same trail.
"I won the 60-meter my freshman year before the event became the beast that it is now in Boston. It was still a new event to me. I remember a fifth-year Boston runner being entered of nowhere who had won it the prior year. Our intelligence didn't know she was still there. But it didn't matter. I saw a red jersey and made sure it was behind me at the line. Simple as that.
Lea's an amazing woman. She gets after it every race. She gets you on your feet and shouting for her on every turn. She has the type of personality that won't let her do any less than her best. That's what this program's about."
Justley Sharp won bronze in the shot put by throwing 15.43 meters (50-7.50) but she might have finished higher had her best attempt not been ruled a foul on a controversial decision. Christine Ajao finished eighth tossing 14.39 meters (47-2.50) moving into sixth all-time in Bucknell history.Â
"Justley did a great job earning a medal today in a tough competition," said throws coach Ryan Protzman. "We certainly left with a sour taste after some debatable foul calls that I know weren't warranted. That is adversity, and I know the type of competitor Justley is. She's going to grow from this and still did a great job doing her part."
"Today definitely wasn't my best outing," said Sharp. "I'm not satisfied with the outcome, however I'm graceful for the opportunity to compete with such a high caliber of competition. I battled some adversity in today's competition. Unfortunately, it just didn't go my way. Army's program had a phenomenal day and I'm excited to come back and compete with them again in the outdoor season."
The distance medley relay team of Grace Vives, Jenna Wright, Regan McGrath, and Kerry O'Day combined to finish fifth with a time of 11:46.66. The speed ranks ninth all-time in Bucknell history.Â
The 4x400-meter relay foursome of Alexa Goll, Noelani Sadler, Anna Posh, and Alison Cooke also earned fifth place. The grouping logged a time of 3:50.28.
Megan Baggetta finished sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 37-8.75.Â
Sadler completed her first leagues competition placing sixth (8.84) in the 60-meter hurdles.
Bucknell will rest until the outdoor season starts in three weeks.Â
