Tereska Receives CSC Academic All-District Team Honors

LEWISBURG, Pa.-Â Sophomore thrower Brylee Tereska was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced on Tuesday. The criteria for inclusion specified a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, sophomore standing or higher, and ranking top 50 in region in an event.Â

Tereska competed in the javelin this season for the Bison and powered her way to a fourth place finish at the Patriot League Championships. Her throw of 158-10 qualified for the NCAA East Preliminaries and ranked third in Bucknell history. She finished 26th at the Preliminaries when she threw 149-4 feet. The placement ranked 12 spots higher than her finish in the 2023 NCAA East Preliminaries.Â
"What a huge honor it is for Brylee to make the CSC All Academic District team," said head coach Kevin Donner. "She had an outstanding season with some tremendous meets throwing the javelin and making the NCAA's again as well as balancing her academics at a very high level. We are very proud of her."
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists, like Tereska, are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members, who vote in their division. The voting started at Noon ET on June 18 and runs through Tuesday, June 25 at 11:59 pm ET. Women's Track and Field/XC first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on Tuesday, July 9.Â
The 2024 Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's track& field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
