Jacob Corson Now Playing with Williamsport Crosscutters

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Recent Bucknell graduate and three-time All-Patriot Leaguer Jacob Corson recently signed with his hometown team, the Williamsport Crosscutters of the MLB Draft League. Corson debuted on Friday at Trenton and went 2-for-2 with a run batted in and a run scored in Williamsport's 13-10 win, and a day later he drew four walks, scored twice, and drove in two in a 14-11 victory.
A native of nearby Muncy, Pa., and a graduate of Hughesville High School, Corson is listed as a catcher on the Crosscutters roster, a position that he played briefly at Bucknell at the start of his junior year in 2023. His first two professional games have come in the outfield, however, which is where he played primarily over his final two collegiate seasons.
Corson was a four-year starter for the Bison and ranks among the most productive offensive players in team history. He was a First Team All-Patriot League honoree this spring after slashing .291/.428/.605 with a career-high 13 home runs, 47 RBIs, and 46 runs scored. Corson ranked third in the Patriot League in home runs and slugging percentage and fourth in RBIs, runs, and OPS (1.033).
Corson graduated as Bucknell's all-time leader in walks (104) and hit-by-pitches (40), and he also ranks fourth in career homers (24) and runs (136), fifth in RBIs (129), sixth in doubles (41), 10th in on-base percentage (.433), and 11th in hits (180).
The Crosscutters play in historic Bowman Field in Williamsport, and they are one of six former affiliated Minor League teams that now comprise the MLB Draft League. The league featured MLB Draft-eligible players from across the country who are projected as potential draft selections. While the Crosscutters are not affiliated with a particular Major League Baseball Team, the league is run by MLB and its partner Prep Baseball Report.
Williamsport is 4-1-1 on the early season after sweeping a three-game series at Trenton over the weekend. The Crosscutters return home to face West Virginia on Tuesday evening in the first of a three-game set.
