BOSTON, Mass.- The Bucknell women's track and field team finished the ECAC Championships in style by setting three school records and winning the Shot Put. The Bison finished third, the highest in school history at the ECAC. Meghan Quinn broke her day-old 200 Meter Dash record, and Bridget Lalonde shattered the previous 400 Meter Dash mark. The 4x400 Meter Relay quartet of Katherine Loew, Jessie Castellano, Meghan Quinn, and Bridget Lalonde demolished the old first-place time. Siobhan O'Sullivan won the Shot Put. The excellent performances gave Bucknell 44.5 points and a third-place finish out of the 43 teams present.
"Tremendous meet for our ladies to come home with a third-place team trophy," said head coach Kevin Donner. "It is the highest place in school history for this meet. We set three school records today and a few other all-time top-10 marks. Our three relays at the end were all on fire, and O'Sullivan winning the shot put was huge. This weekend gives us tremendous momentum heading into the outdoor season, and the pressure of a championship meet toughens our mindsets. I am so proud of those ladies."Â
Siobhan O'Sullivan entered as the top seed in the Shot Put, and the thrower lived up to the advanced billing. She threw the ball a distance of 46-10.25 to outpace all challengers, win gold, and claim 10 points for the Bison cause.Â
Meghan Quinn spent the indoor season repeatedly breaking the 200 Meter Dash mark, and the junior sprinter, one day after breaking the record, shattered it again in the finals. Quinn finished fifth, but her time of 24.03 now resides as the first-place mark in the Bucknell lists by 0.34 seconds.Â
Bridget Lalonde previously tied Jess Bridle for first place in the 400 Meter Dash. The record now solely belongs to the senior sprinter. Lalonde claimed third place with a time of 54.75. The old mark of 55.33 was left in the dust by the sensational speed shown by the senior speedster.Â
The 4x400 Meter Relay foursome of Katherine Loew, Jessie Castellano, Meghan Quinn, and Bridget Lalonde finished second by coordinating to a time of 3:40.56. That time broke the old Bucknell record by 2.12 seconds.Â
Katherine Loew achieved individual success finishing third in the 500 Meter Dash with a time of 1:14.24. She is now third all-time in Bucknell history for the event.Â
The Distance Medley Relay quarter of Caryn Rippey, Alison Cooke,  Anna Posh, and Ally Clarke lodged a fourth-place finish and picked up five points for the Bison. Their time of 11:45.51 also inserts them into seventh place all-time in Bucknell history.Â
The 4x800 Meter Relay foursome of Mariana Engleby, Hailey Tabar, Meredith Haberfield, and Eva Lindner also claimed fourth place and five points with their time of 9:06.80.Â
