
Men's Track & Field Finishes Fifth at Patriot League Track & Field Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md.- Bucknell men's track and field finished fifth at the Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships and received six IC4A nods. The Bison earned 51.5 points.Â

"We had some great performances on the men's side, but we also left a few too many points out here today," said head coach Kevin Donner. "We had a lot of injuries, and sickness hit our men's team this winter, and we were never near 100%. We hope to get closer to 100% as we approach the outdoor season."
Tristan An led the Bison scoring effort earning 5.5 points for his third-place finish in the High Jump. The sophomore leaped to a placement of 6-7 1/2 and grabbed IC4A certification. Fellow jumper Chris Sims chipped in three points from his sixth-place finish in the Triple Jump. Sims achieved a mark of 45-10.Â
Franco Perinotti finished fourth in the Heptathlon with 4965 points. His efforts earned Bucknell five points and placed him third all-time in the Bucknell record books.
The relay teams also powered the Bucknell scoring output. The quartet of Rayven Sample, Gardy Philogene, Max Spaulding, and Ethan Wolford-Tuffy finished fourth in the 4x400 Meter Relay. Their time of 3:19.76 ensured the Bison five points and the group ECAC qualification. Jayson Harmer, Zachary Jelinek, Colby Belczyk, and Christian Cadmus teamed up to finish seventh in the Distance Medley. They raced to a time of 10:08.61 to win two points and IC4A participation.Â
Two runners earned seven points for the Bucknell effort. Cooper Hyken ran 6.97 in the 60 Meter Dash to win four points and an IC4A entry. Brian Scotto hustled to an 8.31 time and sixth-place finish in the 60 Meter Hurdles. He won three points and IC4A participation.Â
Bucknell had two other scorers. Anthony Zamarra finished fifth in the Shot Put on a toss of 53-1 1/2. He earned four points and IC4A qualification for the heave. Miguel Negrete totaled 4031 points in the Heptathlon for an eighth-place finish. The placement provided one point for the Bison.Â
