LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell wrestling junior Dorian Crosby was named Bison of the Week on Monday after going 3-0 in duals over the weekend. The heavyweight helped clinch Saturday's win over Rider and scored bonus points in the team's matchups with LIU and Army.
Crosby remains unbeaten in dual action this season and has now helped seal Bison victories in the final bout on several occasions. His 7-4 decision over Rider's No. 33 David Szuba Saturday evening was especially crucial, as Bucknell held just a narrow 16-15 lead heading into it. It was Crosby's third win over a nationally-ranked opponent this season.
Earlier in the day on Saturday, Crosby put the exclamation point on Bucknell's dominant 38-4 win over LIU at home. He recorded a second-period fall over Aeden Begue, adding six team points to the Bison total. It was his second pin of the season.
Crosby added another win Sunday at Army, securing a 12-2 major decision over Kade Carlson to cap a 10-0 Bison run. The Erie, Pa. native is now tied for the team lead with five major decisions on the season.
Crosby has been outstanding in 2022-23 after missing his junior season with injury. He's 15-9 on the season and 7-0 in duals, helping Bucknell to a 4-2 EIWA record. He's also come away victorious in nine of his last 11 matches. Earlier in the year he defeated No. 30 Zachary Knighton-Ward of Hofstra and No. 18 Jaron Smith of Maryland.
Crosby was ranked No. 30 in the first NCAA Coaches' Poll, which was released Jan. 19.
Crosby and the Bison are back at Davis Gym this weekend for duals against Columbia and Navy on Friday and Saturday.
