Bucknell Wrestling Welcomes 11 Incoming Freshmen

The class of 2025 includes four state champions, eight state placewinners and nine team captains. The incoming freshmen hail from five different states: Pennsylvania (6), Massachusetts (2), Illinois, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. Four of the Pennsylvania natives appeared in PA Power Wrestling's listing of top 115 recruits.
For the 2021-22 campaign, Bucknell returns Zach Hartman, a two-time All-American and the defending EIWA champion at 165 pounds. The Bison return an additional six EIWA placewinners: Vincent Andreano, Jaden Fisher, Mason McCready, Darren Miller, Kurt Phipps and Brandon Seidman. Notably, Miller joined Hartman, a three-time NCAA qualifier, at the 2021 NCAA Championships while Fisher is a two-time EIWA placewinner.
Antonio Amelio
157, Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley
Before Bucknell: Lettered in wrestling at Seneca Valley High School … posted a 126-54 career record with 56 pins … was a state placewinner and a WPIAL champion … helped team win four Section 3 titles, finish as WPIAL runners-up three times and place in the state's top eight three times … served as team captain … PA Power Wrestling's No. 56 recruit in Pennsylvania's class of 2021.
Personal: Antonio Michael Amelio … born March 13, 2003 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania … son of Robert and Erin Amelio … has two siblings: Adrianna and Angelo … was a member of high school's auditioned Madrigal choir … former Seneca Valley teammate Dylan Chappell is also a member of the Bucknell wrestling team's class of 2025.

Before Bucknell: Lettered four times in wrestling and three times in football at Selinsgrove Area High School … in wrestling, was a four-time PIAA AAA state qualifier, a four-time regional runner-up and a three-time district champion … made Academic All-State First Team … posted a 130-32 career record … four-year team captain … served as football captain as a senior … also wrestled for BVRTC and M2 Training Center … PA Power Wrestling's No. 50 recruit in Pennsylvania's class of 2021.

Before Bucknell: Lettered in wrestling at Salem High School … posted a career record of 169-33, going 42-2 as a senior and 92-4 as an upperclassman … won two D2 state titles … captured two CAL/NEC championships … was a two-time all-state and four-time all-league honoree … reached the 2020 New England championship finals … made The Salem News All-Decade Wrestling Team for the 2010s … three-time team MVP … three-year team captain.
