Wrestling's Andreano Named Bison of Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell wrestler Vincent Andreano was named the first Mid-Penn Energy/Mid-Penn Engineering Bison Athlete of the Week of the 2020-21 campaign.
Andreano was recognized after going 3-0 during the Bison's season-opening tournament against VMI and LIU. The 174 pounder posted a pair of pins; his first, of LIU's Tom DiGennaro, came in the first period while his second, of VMI's Joel Diaz, came with just two seconds remaining on the clock.
Andreano accounted for two of Bucknell's seven pins. He was one of six Bison to go undefeated; he was also one of two to go 3-0, joining 133 pounder Darren Miller.
This is Andreano's first career Bison Athlete of the Week nod. During the abbreviated 2019-20 season, Jaden Fisher (Jan. 27) and Drew Phipps (Mar. 9) earned this distinction; Phipps, who was honored for his performance at the EIWA Championships, was the last Bison recognized during that campaign.
Andreano and the Bucknell wrestling team next travel to Hempstead, N.Y. to take on Hofstra on Sunday, Jan. 10 at 2 p.m.
