LEWISBURG, Pa. – A Sojka Pavilion visit by Penn State highlights the Bucknell wrestling team's 2018-19 schedule, released Thursday by head coach Dan Wirnsberger.
The Nittany Lions, winners of seven of the past eight NCAA titles, are set to make their first ever trip to Lewisburg for a 7 p.m. dual on Friday, November 30. Penn State and Bucknell met for the first time since 1945 last year in State College, Pennsylvania."I'm excited for our team to compete against Penn State," Wirnsberger said. "Since the reinstatement of our program, it has always been a goal to fill Sojka Pavilion to capacity for a wrestling match. I have a great feeling there won't be an empty seat in the house when the Bison come running out of the tunnel on November 30."
Rising ACC power North Carolina will also visit Sojka Pavilion during the 2018-19 campaign. The Bison and Tar Heels, who have not met in Lewisburg since 1993, will square off on Friday, February 1 at 7 p.m.
Beyond its Sojka duals against Penn State and North Carolina, Bucknell will host five duals in Davis Gym. The Bison open their season by welcoming Buffalo, Cleveland State and VMI to Davis Gym on Sunday, November 11. They will also face Navy (January 5), Franklin & Marshall (February 3), American (February 9) and Columbia (February 23) at home during EIWA action.

"As always, the Bison will compete against the toughest competition to prepare our student-athletes for March," Wirnsberger said. "There is no doubt the quality of our home schedule will boost our dual meet attendance. Davis Gym and Sojka Pavilion are both outstanding venues that will provide an opportunity for our alumni, fans and friends of our program to watch the nation's best in our own backyard."
Highlights of Bucknell's road schedule include trips to Pitt (December 16) and the prestigious Ken Kraft Midlands Championships (Dec. 29-30). The Bison will travel to seven EIWA opponents over the course of the season.
The EIWA Championships, which will be hosted by Binghamton in Vestal, New York, are set for March 8-9. The NCAA Championships will be held March 21-23 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Ticket information for Bucknell's Sojka Pavilion duals will be released in early September. Admission is free to all Davis Gym duals. Fans can view the full schedule here.
NOTICE: The date of the American dual was later changed to February 8. The Bison and Eagles will square off at 7 p.m.
