
Bucknell Track and Field Continues Competing at Day Two of Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Bucknell track and field teams continued competing at the Penn Relays on Friday afternoon, with two men's relay squads running squads running on Day Two.
Bucknell's men's men's 4x400 relay team ran in the Wetzler/Pennsylvania division, taking first place. The Bison men ran an IC4A-qualifying time of 3:15.17 to win the event. The time is also the third-fastest in Buckell history.
The Bison men also ran in the college division of the 4x100 relay. Bucknell took eighth in the sixth heat, recording a time of 42.98.
Highlighting the first day of competition on Thursday, senior Beverly Rogers (Finleyville, Pa./Ringgold) posted an NCAA East Regional standard of 148-1 for eighth place in the championship division of the javelin throw, while junior Amanda Mockbee (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) placed eighth with an ECAC-qualifying distance of 141-0 in the college division of the discus throw. Additionally, freshman Sarah Moniz (Topsfield, Mass./Masconomet Regional) ran a career-best time of 10:03.62, which is also the fifth-fastest in Bucknell history, in the championship division of the 3,000-meter run.
The Penn Relays will continue on Saturday, April 26, as Bucknell will have athletes competing both in Philadelphia and at the Red Flash Open, hosted by Saint Francis (Pa.).
