Bison Track and Field Competes in Day One of the Tiger Track Classic and Sam Howell Memorial Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - Senior Matthew Forys (Howell, N.J./Howell) of the Bucknell men's track and field team became an NCAA Regional and IC4A Championship qualifier after he posted a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Sam Howell Memorial Invitational in Princeton, N.J., with a time of 8 minutes, 50.10 seconds, which ranks him second all-time.
In the discus, junior Amanda Mockbee (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) placed second with a mark of 152 feet, 1 inch (46.36m), which qualified her for the ECAC Championships and sits her second all-time, while senior Kathleen Hart (Dlemar, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) finished third with a distance of 140-0 (42.68m). Sophomore Nicole Falcaro (Dingsmans Ferry, Pa./Delaware Valley) posted a time of 11:35.92 in the 3,000 steeplechase, which ranks her eighth all-time.
At the Tiger Track Classic in Auburn, Ala., senior Marjorie Grap (Van Etten, N.Y./Spencer-Van Etten) recorded a distance of 172-4 (54.64m) in the hammer throw, which was good for 8th place. Her mark qualified her for the ECAC Championships. Senior Tyler Hoffman (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) finished seventh after he threw for a distance of 182-1 (55.51m), which made him and IC4A qualifier.
Bucknell will compete in the second day of competition at the Sam Howell Memorial Invitational and the Tiger Track Classic in Princeton, N.J., and Auburn, Ala., respectively, on Saturday, Apr. 7.
