Wrestling Team Falls to Buffalo, 37-11

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Buffalo University wrestling team won seven of ten bouts on its way to a 37-11 victory over Bucknell in college wrestling action on Saturday, February 3. Bucknell falls to 7-7 in dual meet competition, while the Bulls improve to 8-2 overall.
The Bison found themselves in an early 12-0 hole after giving up a forfeit at the opening weight class of 149, and suffering a loss by fall at 157. Senior co-captain Ryan Fasnacht (Tremont, Pa./Pine Grove) got the Orange and Blue on the board with a 3-1 decision over his opponent at 165, and junior Ben Chunko (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) followed with his 20th victory of the season with a 12-3 major decision at 174. Junior Brian Falciglia (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) got Bucknell within four, 15-11, with a 12-3 major decision at 197 pounds, but that is as close as BU would get.
The Bulls went on to win the final four matches, including a forfeit, a medical forfeit and a fall, to take the meet, 37-11.
The Bison are in action in their final home meets of the season next Saturday, February 10. Bucknell hosts Lock Haven at 11:00 a.m., Millersville at 12:30 p.m., and Seton Hall at 2:00 p.m.
