Hello from Bison Water Polo,
I hope everyone’s summer has been going well! Many of our athletes have been grinding at their summer internships and traveling the world, all while training to prepare for the upcoming 2023-2024 season. One of our women’s players, Boati Motau, has been competing in Fukuoka, Japan at World Championships. I got to see her play, and it was great seeing Bucknell on the world stage.
Our women’s team welcomes six new players this year from all corners of the globe, Hawaii, Hungary, South Africa, Maryland, New York City, and Pennsylvania. These young women are accomplished athletes and will help Bucknell women’s water polo as we rebuild into top form once again. We will still be a young team, but they are motivated and excited to start.
Our men’s team welcomes four new players to the roster. We have two from California, one from Romania, and one from Greece. Three of the four athletes have national team experience and fill specific roles that we have on the team. This year the men are hosting the Mid-Atlantic Championships in Kinney Natatorium. The schedule will be up on our website soon, so please take a look and let us know if you can attend any of the events.
It is going to be a great year for Bucknell Water Polo. I hope you are as excited as our student-athletes to begin competing and winning.
All my best.
